Kelly Sullivan Walden Author Bio

Despite how inspired Kelly Sullivan Walden was by Clarissa Pinkola Este’s famous book, “Women Who Run with Wolves,” she spent twenty years running from wolves… in her dreams. It started with one ravenous, lone wolf, then two, a dozen…until eventually there were thousands of them.

Throughout two decades, Kelly became an expert at running, hiding, and leaping. But no matter how swiftly or cleverly she outsmarted them, they circled back in droves. Until one night, Kelly stopped running—she’d become so weary, she thought, “Fine, have me!” When she stopped, as you might expect, the wolves pounced on her, yipping, snarling, devouring, and ripping her apart.

What Kelly didn’t expect was when they finished with her, she didn’t die. She emerged as one of them, hair bedraggled, clothes torn asunder, howling, and more alive than ever. It turns out the wolves weren’t hellbent on killing Kelly. They were heaven-sent to initiate her into a wilder, more complimentary, fiercer, truer version of herself than she ever imagined.

Before this dream, Kelly was a self-proclaimed card-carrying Scaredy-Cat-People-Pleaser. The stiffness in her chest, tightness in her shoulders, and low-grade anxiety running in the background of her mind had become her norm. But after the wolf dreams to end all wolf dreams, she changed. She still cares what people think (barely), but popular opinion no longer “runs” her. Thanks to this dream, she’s markedly bolder and more self-expressed.

Because of this dream and a series of tandem-dreaming experiences Kelly shared with her younger sister while growing up, dreams are the primary tent pole of Kelly’s spiritual counseling and hypnotherapy practice. Kelly witnessed the power of dreams to unearth seemingly immovable blocks in her life and in the lives of her colleagues and clients. She’s had a front-row seat to the miraculous way dreams elevate and transform people toward attracting the life they desire and deserve.

These days, Kelly Sullivan Walden is known as Doctor Dream. She’s an award-winning, international bestselling author of ten books and seven oracle decks. Her latest book is A Crisis is a Terrible Thing to Waste: The Art of Transforming the Tragic into Magic. It won the NYC Big Book Award (Distinguished Favorite), Reader’s Favorite (Silver Medal), Royal Dragonfly (Honorable Mention), Woman’s World Book of the Week, was Aspire Magazine’s top 10 Most Inspirational books, and it was recommended by Shirley MacLaine. Kelly is a dream expert, certified clinical hypnotherapist, inspirational speaker, podcast host, and workshop facilitator. Kelly holds a doctorate degree in Spiritual Counseling.

Her unique approach to dream work led her to consult with thousands of individuals, from Fortune 500 executives to celebrities to stay-at-home moms. She’s had the honor of interpreting dreams for Doctor Oz, Ricki Lake, George Noory (Coast to Coast), the hosts from The Real, Topher Grace, the Housewives of NY and the O.C., and the hosts of Hallmark’s Home & Family, and the anchors for NBC, CBS, ABC and the CW news.

Her bestselling books include I Had the Strangest Dream, It’s All in Your Dreams, Dreaming Heaven, The Love, Sex & Relationship Dream Dictionary, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Dreams and Premonitions, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Dreams and the Unexplainable, Luminous Humanness, and her most recent, A Crisis is a Terrible Thing to Waste: The Art of Transforming the Tragic into Magic.

Her award-winning oracle decks include The Hero’s Journey Dream Oracle, Dream Oracle Cards, Dream Goddess Empowerment Deck, Awakened Dreamer Oracle Cards, Luminous Humanness Oracle, Dia de Los Muertos Oracle, and Wild Animal Dream Oracle.

She hosts The Kelly Sullivan Walden Show podcast and is the founder of Dreamafesting, an online professional development program that empowers people to incorporate dream work into their lives and careers.

She is the past president of the Woman’s National Book Association (LA Chapter), and through The Author’s Showcase, she inspires would-be authors to write their hearts out and fulfill their publishing dreams.

Perhaps the dream you’ll awaken with tomorrow will ignite your creativity and set your writing on fire. The program culminates in a showcase, where we pull back the curtains, roll out the red carpet, and present our work to family, friends, and a panel of publishing professionals (try saying that 10 times fast!). Think of it like The American Idol of Authors! To find out more about how you can become part of the Author’s Showcase, go to: https://www.kellysullivanwalden.com/authorsshowcase
